British poet and textile designer William Morris once said, “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”. We think William Morris would have been a fan of Cif Upcycling.
Knowing that everyone has plenty of unused objects lying around their homes ready to be transformed into beautiful, useful projects, inspired our work. We created six photographic Upcycling guides, showing how to transform and re-invent your home, with Cif. From turning a leftover jar into a striking candleholder, cleaning up an old lightbulb and converting it into a mini-terrarium, and even resurrecting a forgotten wastepaper basket into a stylish side table; these easy-to-make, inspiring and accessible projects show the house-proud how to make a beautiful impact.
The series stands apart from most other home décor tutorials, demonstrating that craft ideas don’t need to be kitsch. We made sure each shot was modern, fresh and original. The visuals were shot in real homes, too, to reinforce the authenticity, while the simple, easy to follow instructions mean anyone can follow and implement each idea.
The projects were specifically chosen to be small, inspirational and achievable, as well as cost effective. And in addition to making a real difference to a Cif user’s surroundings, they could help the planet too.
