Every profession has its trade secrets – and in some cases, those are beauty secrets too. So when it comes to beauty products, the real experts are of course the women who have spent years using them, not models or celebrities who haven’t.
Dove tasked us with enhancing their existing ecosystem of content, requiring the production of a series of digital videos, which we filmed in just two weeks. With a focus on specific insights that viewers could both relate to and learn from, we sourced women in a diverse range of jobs who regularly use Dove products. By asking them to candidly talk about and advise on their specific “trade” issues, we coaxed out unique tips that may otherwise have gone unsaid. We had a gardener talking about caring for dry hands, an aerialist discussing how she copes with sweating under pressure, and a hairdresser describing how she protects her hair from the damage regular styling can cause – to name just a few.
To bring further authenticity to the footage, we asked the women to film themselves, providing a “day in the life” snapshot of our experts and their beauty routines. United together, the final videos enable viewers to learn from women who have experienced specific issues themselves, whilst being captivated by the stories they have to tell.
