Dirt is Good (DiG) believes that exploratory, outdoor play is vital for a child’s development, and as such, all youngsters should have the freedom to get messy – grass stains and all.
In collaboration with leading experts from around the world, DiG developed a comprehensive White Paper to establish how important play is to child development, and address the different barriers facing parents and children today.
To bring the White Paper to life, we developed a series of animations to communicate the positive benefits of play. After crafting the narrative, developing the scripts, and recording a voiceover with renowned education expert Sir Ken Robinson, we worked with specialist animation house Scriberia to bring the whole project together.
Using stop-motion animation, real objects such as soil, paint and flowers were incorporated alongside hand-drawn characters and illustrated graphics. Combined with the authoritative voice of Sir Ken, our animated guidelines showed parents just how important and beneficial play is, and that most importantly, dirt is good.
