Distinctiveness and style form the foundation of Ray-Ban Remix, a customisation service for consumers seeking individuality from their shades. With the service already launched across the globe, our challenge was to create equally distinctive content that would catch the eye of all the right media, and re-educate them about the production process.
Taking just a few days to craft each order from first click, Ray-Ban wanted to exhibit how they achieve a high-quality custom product in such a fast turnaround period – particularly as each pair is put together 90% by hand. So we went behind the scenes at the Remix factory in Italy to explore the logistics, enabling us to tell the story of a pair of Remix glasses from click-to-bell.
Belgrade-based illustrator Bratoslavic Milenkovic brought his unique style to a specially created scrolling website, with each of his illustrations animated to reveal the craft behind the Ray-Ban Remix production process. Milenkovic’s colourful portrayal of textures, machinery and processes juxtapose perfectly with the playful depiction of his characters – including charaterising each of the factory workers with unique hairstyles, denim and sneakers.
The final animation sits on our Ray-Ban: Remix Do You interactive media site, where journalists can download the illustrations, Ray-Ban Remix product imagery and press materials for use in editorial.
